The main advantage of being a member of the SBTVD Forum is, in addition to belonging to the group of companies that led the transition process from analog to digital TV, being part of a debate environment in which there is ease of dialogue between the private sector and the federal government.
For member companies, the work developed by the SBTVD Forum returns in the form of a discussion environment between the sectors that make up the broadcasting industry, which facilitates the implementation of digital TV in the country and also the continued development of digital terrestrial TV.
Without the Forum, companies in one sector would not be able to discuss issues of common interest with companies in other sectors, and it would also not be possible to address issues of general interest with the government. In other words, without the work developed by the Forum, cooperation between the different sectors on actions related to digital terrestrial TV would be impossible.
Members of an entity that currently includes the main companies operating in the digital TV market and brings together the five sectors involved in the implementation of Digital TV (broadcasters, manufacturers of reception and transmission equipment; software industry and teaching and research entities) gain greater representation among their interlocutors in the public sector, which is very important for a developing activity such as Open Digital TV.
The SBTVD Forum has 04 Work Modules that are areas created for the discussion of subjects of interest to the sectors represented under conditions of absolute equality.
In addition to sharing knowledge and experiences, members of the SBTVD Forum actively participate in the development of technical standards for the Brazilian Digital Terrestrial TV System and have access to discussions and the latest market information.
The member company has an active voice in the discussions and implementation of ideas that shape the current and future scenario of the open digital television system in the country.
The SBTVD Forum is governed by best corporate governance practices, ensuring transparent and accurate information regarding its management and promoting a balanced and fair institutional environment.
Since 2006, the SBTVD Forum has accumulated more than 180,000 hours of work used for the benefit of member companies, allowing them to operate in a regulated sector with clear rules.
